Fall is our favorite season!

Hey there, I’m Elizabeth Dukart! Welcome to The Well Prepared Mom! No need to be formal, though – just call me Elizabeth. Heck, I’ll even answer to “mom!” Now, I know what you’re thinking…it seems pretty gutsy to say that I’m a well prepared mom. Really, I’m far from it! Just like you, I’m learning, ALWAYS LEARNING, as I go along. I figured it wouldn’t be a bad idea to share tips and tricks that have helped me to navigate life, so, here we are.

I’m a married 30-something mom of 2 boys. They’re pretty awesome. I mean, they come with their fair share of skinned knees, arguments about video games, and food aversions, but, for the most part, they’re pretty awesome. Before I had the boys, I was a special education teacher. Loved teaching, but am super thankful that I’ve been able to stay at home and, recently, even started homeschooling them! Ever since I left the world of teaching, I’ve dabbled in direct sales, have owned a few businesses, and joined the blogging world a few years ago.

Christmas is our FAVORITE time of year!

I’ve lived in 2 states so far: New Jersey and Florida. Crazy enough, I grew up in New Jersey then, when I got married, we decided we were done dealing with the cold weather. Well, 5 years later, we moved back up to New Jersey and are now raising the boys in the town I where I grew up. Wild, right?! Who knows where we’ll end up in the future, but, for now, we’re pretty happy living in the land of wooder, pork roll, cheesesteaks, and wooder ice. I really love this area. I’ve heard people say New Jersey is the armpit of the nation, but…we’re an hour away from my favorite Ocean City, a quick drive across the bridge to history-filled Philadelphia, and we grow some pretty sweet tomatoes, corn, and peaches in our gardens, so….I’m thinking other states just must not know how awesome New Jersey can be!

Food is a passion of mine! Growing up, I wanted to be either a teacher or a chef. Teaching won for the degree, but I’m a pretty sweet cook if I do say so myself! I enjoy trying new foods and could legit spend days watching cooking shows on tv. Crab and a medium steak are two of my favorite foods, but I’m just as happy enjoying a delicious pizza (how do you feel about Hawaiian pizza? Yum!!) on movie night with the family.

There’s nothing like ice cream on the boardwalk!

What else about me? I love music – let me listen to The Beatles and I’ll be the happiest person ever! Before we had the kids, my husband and I went on a dream-come-true vacation to London and Liverpool that I can only hope we can recreate with our kids in the future.

The beach and Walt Disney World are two of my happy places. Have you ever been in an ocean on the Gulf Coast? Not only is it gorgeous, but the water is *so* warm. I’ve been to Disney World a bunch of times and, while I enjoyed going pre-kids, I feel like visiting with kids is even better! It’s such a magical place and it’s so amazing to see my kids enjoy the wonder of Disney World. I’ve been to Disneyland once, but am hoping to visit again soon because I *need* to experience their Marvel area when it opens. #imissironman

Have you tried LeFou’s Brew in
Disney World? SO delicious!

I love crafting, shopping, spending time with family, watching movies, and…obviously…being on social media. Social Media Marketing is a passion of mine – it changes all the time, but I just love being able to connect with people near and far from the comfort of my own home.

So, why did I start this blog? Really, why not? I enjoy helping others and, if my experiences can help someone else, I’m game! We’re all just doing our best to make it through life, survive parenting, and become the best version of ourselves…we might as well do it together.

I hope you decide to stick around for a while!
